Philadelphia social worker prepares for 100-mile bike ride to support lung cancer patients

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) – A social worker from Fox Chase will be riding 100 miles to help people with lung cancer Sunday. Her ride will support the group Ride Hard Breathe Easy, which raises money and awareness for patients with lung cancer and their families.

The Cheltenham-based lung cancer nonprofit Ride Hard Breathe Easy (RHBE) recently awarded Fox Chase Cancer Center $50,000 for a new program called “Lung Cancer in Never-Smokers: An Initiative to Raise Community Awareness and Establish a Novel Risk Registry”.

West Chester Lung Cancer Survivor Takes on 425-Mile Ride to Support Local Nonprofit

Lung cancer survivor Terri Ann DiJulio will ride over 400 miles from Philadelphia to Maryland and back to raise awareness and funds for a local lung cancer nonprofit, Ride Hard Breathe Easy. DiJulio has been diagnosed three times with early-stage lung cancer and has lost her mother, two uncles, and an aunt to the disease.

The Oct. 1 donation was followed a day later by another $20,000 contribution, this time to Temple Hospital.
