Jack Owens finishes his cross country ride! The journey was 3,600 miles, included 120,000+ feel of climbing, all to raise money for lung cancer patients in memory of his grandmother!
 
OCEAN CITY, New Jersey (WPVI) — Ocean City community members hit the beach to celebrate the end of a long cross country journey.

Jack Owens was greeted by cheers and hugs from his friends and family, after spending over forty days biking from California to New Jersey.

Twenty-year-old Jack Owens made a pit stop Wednesday at Valley Forge National Park in Pennsylvania. The Philadelphia cyclist is riding coast to coast to help lung cancer patients.

SOUTH BEND, Ind. (WNDU) – Jack Owens is a sophomore business student at Notre Dame University who is currently riding his bike across the country for a good cause.

Jack Owens is riding 3600 miles to raise money for the nonprofit Ride Hard Breathe Easy, an organization focused on helping lung cancer patients and supporting research.

 

In September of 2023 my nephew Jack called. “Uncle Jack, I want to ride my bike across the country to help lung cancer patients.”  Jack was 18 at the time, and Jack was very serious.

On this coming Tuesday, May 20, while most young men his age will be just starting their summer vacation or internships, my nephew Jack Owens will be getting on the road, pedaling mile after relentless mile across America. His ambition to make a difference, a real difference, is in his bones.

Jack Owens, a 20-year-old Notre Dame student from Philadelphia, is embarking on a 3600-mile bike ride across the US in support of lung cancer patients.

His journey, inspired by his involvement with nonprofit Ride Hard Breathe Easy (RHBE), aims to raise $100,000.

We were thrilled to have Jefferson Health bring their mobile cancer screening bus to emphasize the importance of cancer screening.

Bikers are going the extra mile to raise money, awareness for lung cancer

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) — A group of cyclists is making strides in the fight against lung cancer. The 7th Annual Ride Hard, Breathe Easy Classic began Sunday morning.

Nine cyclists left Temple University Hospital to embark on the 425-mile roundtrip journey from Philadelphia to Baltimore and back again.

West Chester Lung Cancer Survivor Takes on 425-Mile Ride to Support Local Nonprofit

Lung cancer survivor Terri Ann DiJulio will ride over 400 miles from Philadelphia to Maryland and back to raise awareness and funds for a local lung cancer nonprofit, Ride Hard Breathe Easy. DiJulio has been diagnosed three times with early-stage lung cancer and has lost her mother, two uncles, and an aunt to the disease.
